Skill:

PC and Laptop Hardware Software repair

Where did you develop it? I build and repair computers over twenty years ago. We have a family computer shop in Hungary where I improved my skills.

We had only one lecture, one tutorial and one competition about hardware.

How well developed is the skill? My skill enough to work in a computer service.

I didn’t learn anything new on this year from hardware.

What might you do to improve it this year? I will follow the development of the computer for the rest of the year.

Skill:

Server management

Where did you develop it? We have an own server since 2011 and I used few different web spaces from different suppliers. I manage the user’s accounts and all necessary settings.

Many attack came to our servers, so I had to develop the setting up of firewalls and other protection options.

How well developed is the skill? I’m not a professional but I can do what I have to do.

I didn’t learn anything new on this year from server management.

What might you do to improve it this year? The server is pretty old and slow so we will start up the replacement of the previous one, following a newer faster server. I purchased a new server and expanded the appropriate state. It is expected to be brought to new tasks.

Skill:

Web pages and web shops creation

Where did you develop it? I crated web pages and web shop in last 7-8 years. I started with FrontPage and after went to Joomla. Now I use only Joomla because I have a good sett extension and all commercial and free plugins and modules what I need to build a proper web page.

During this year, we have learned HTML, PHP and MySql. I made a functioning web shop using only pure code. Previously this I could only do by using CMS systems.

How well developed is the skill? I learned new things that I had the opportunity over the past few months.

What might you do to improve it this year? I hope in the future I will use these experiences into my daily work. Deepen my knowledge in the exercise.

System Administration

Where did you develop it?I previously was using Linux, but I didn’t really like it. During the year, at the university I learned the basic instructions and use Linux systems.

How well developed is the skill? I think I’m all right what we learned but unfortunately I have not received my final assessment.

What might you do to improve it this year? Since our server is running Debian Linux, so I need to develop my skills constantly.

Skill:

Programming

Where did you develop it? I have not studied programming before in school. When I was young I tried to Basic, Pascal and Assembler programming languages, but only as a hobby.

In university, we met using Visual Studio and C # programming languages.

How well developed is the skill? In Practicing I have finished all the tasks given and some other complementary practices.

Although we have not received the related assessment, but I think my skill is acceptable due to the measured level.

What might you do to improve it this year? My end of year project is the Robot Programming where I’d like to use C # language as well.

Software Development

Where did you develop it? At the University.

We have learned about:

How well developed is the skill? I never used and learned before these things. Now I know I have to use them and need change my approach and a lot of practice.

What might you do to improve it this year? I will use these things to do my Portfolio 6 and refresh what we previously learned.

Computer Systems, Networking

Where did you develop it? At the University.

We got basic knowledge about:

- Number Systems

- Networks addressing (IPv4 and IPv6)

- Using Packet Tracer

- Build small virtual and real networks.

- Personal Computers and Its components

- Security and Legal Systems

How well developed is the skill? I think I know what I need to know to up to now.

What might you do to improve it this year? I use this most of the things in my everyday work.
